Ava Byrd and Byrdsong Productions

As founder and Creative Director of ByrdSong Productions Ava Byrd has 30+ years of experience in the fashion industry. She is a graduate of the Fashion Institute of Design and Merchandising (FIDM), in Los Angeles. Ava Byrd completed her studies with the Los Angeles American College for the Applied Arts. Through her extensive travels she has further enhanced her designing and merchandising skills and has built a solid bi-coastal fashion resume.Ava Byrd has acquired various designing and merchandising positions supporting fashion retail giants, such as Joseph Magnins and Bullocks. Additionally, she landed positions as a sample cutter and patternmaker for various fashion houses that include Bay Area pioneers such as Jeanne Marc, Eber of San Francisco and Karen Alexander. In 1986 while working at New York Fashion Week Ava Byrd had an encounter that she describes as "a dream come true." She had the opportunity to meet and work with the legendary Audrey Smaltz and her NYC Ground Crew. Ava Byrd utilized her skills as designer, patternmaker, dresser and coordinator to aide NYC Fashion Week designers. The experience instilled the importance of backstage management and fueled the burning desire to begin Byrdsong Productions.Headquartered in the San Francisco Bay Area ByrdSong Productions specializes in staffing coordination, fashion show production and backstage management. It offers services across the board for fashion, theater, editorial and design production companies. Macy's Passport, Chic Fashion Week, Junior League of San Francisco, F3, Nicole Miller, GB Shrive, Danielle Pettee, Tuan Tran, Zoe Hong and more have relied upon Ava Byrd's guidance. The ByrdSong Productions artistic team, many of whom Ava Byrd trained personally, provide seamless and flawless service with behind the scenes execution. Their professionalism and dedication to providing a high level of service in fashion show production and backstage management resonates with photographers, media personalities and fashion designers.
